The situation escalated when the KSU even set up their document checkpoint, which was later dismantled by the administration as they were termed “illegal”.

They have intensified patrolling and deployed additional personnel across the city.
Furthermore, at least four cases have been registered against those involved in the assaults, and summons have been issued to some KSU leaders to appear before police stations.
However, the situation remains tense as, despite a clear statement from Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma that document checks by individuals or organizations are illegal, the KSU is continuing its activities.
