The staff and Police Personnel of the 6th Battalion of Meghalaya Police and Meghalaya Police Academy / Police Training School Umran on Monday distributed warm clothes (blanket) to underprivileged elderly people at Niangbyrnai village of Umran in Ri-Bhoi district ahead of Christmas.

The paramedical staff of 6th Battalion Meghalaya Police Umran also conducted an awareness & behavioral change campaign so as to encourage the general public to avail the COVID -19 vaccination as well as to continue with COVID appropriate behavior, said a statement.

The blanket / warm clothes distribution will be continuing in the days to come for the residents of Children Homes, Old Age Homes and Shelter Homes in Ri Bhoi District, it said.

“We are grateful to all the Police Personnel of Meghalaya Police, friends and well-wishers for donating generously to this noble cause,” said Lakador Syiem, Commandant of 6th Battalion, Meghalaya Police.
