One suspected overground worker of proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) has been arrested in connection with the recent recovery of a powerful IED at the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) office in Shillong.
The person arrested by Meghalaya police reportedly planted the IED at the office of NPP.

As per reports, Meghalaya police has already identified the accused persons involved in the planting of IED.
An IED was found at the ruling NPP office in the Lower Lachumiere area in Shillong on October 4.
HNLC militants in a Facebook post stated that the outfit planted the bomb at the ruling party office.
