Indian Navy divers have spotted one of the bodies of the trapped miners from the ill-fated coal mine at Ksan in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district.

The Navy officials said this on Thursday adding that the navy divers while using the Under Water Remotely Operated vehicle have spotted the body at approximately 160 feet depth of the mine.
“The body was pulled to the mouth of the rat hole mine and shall be extracted out of the mine under the supervision of doctors,” tweeted the spokesperson of India Navy on Thursday.
At least 15 miners were believed to have been trapped in the ill fated coal mine on December 13 last year when the coal mine got flooded.

Multiple agencies including the SDRF, NDRF, the NDMA, the Indian Nany and experts of geophysical institute of Hyderabad and Chennai have been carrying out rescue operation in the mine.
