The body of a minor girl has been recovered from a house at Nongalbibra village in South Garo Hills.
It is suspected that she was strangulated to death on Friday.

Police recovered the body after local residents informed the Nongalbibra Police Station and have sent for postmortem.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC in connection with the incident.

A police team led by South Garo Hills SP Priyangshu Pandey visited the spot and began an inquiry.
“We have arrested a suspect late last night and he was produced in the court today. We are waiting for the post-mortem report,” the SP said.
