Rescue efforts, including overnight operations, have thus far been unsuccessful.

He acknowledged the possibility of Marwein’s passing but emphasized that rescue efforts remain a top priority.

Boro further revealed plans to implement safety measures to prevent similar tragedies.

These include installing warning signs to guide individuals, particularly waste pickers, away from hazardous areas within the landfill.

Marwein, a resident of Mawiong with a wife and two children, is originally from Mawkyrwat.

He had reportedly arrived at the landfill after collecting waste from the city and intended to gather recyclable materials when the collapse occurred.
