Meghalaya: Health department cancels nurse recruitment interviews

Guwahati: The Meghalaya Health Department has scrapped the scheduled walk-in interviews for contractual staff nurse positions originally planned for May 22nd-24th in Shillong and May 22nd-23rd in Tura.

The interviews were abruptly cancelled according to a notice issued by the Director of Health Services (MI) on Monday.

This decision comes on the heels of demands from the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) for clarification regarding the selection process.

The KSU has raised concerns about alleged irregularities in the shortlist of candidates chosen for the interviews.

They claimed that some selected candidates didn’t meet the required qualifications, while others who did were inexplicably excluded.

The KSU further called for transparency and demanded the department publish the marks of all applicants to dispel doubts and ensure a fair selection process.
