Meghalaya has made a budget plan of Rs 1,505 crore for preparing conducting National Games in 2022, informed state sports and youth affairs department.
The funds will be collected from Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Union Ministry of Development of Northeastern Region (DoNER), North Eastern Council.

Apart from the public sector institutions, many private sector companies will also contribute for the national event.
The government is taking initiative to promote local talents in the National Games in 2022.
A team preparation committee will identify the players and look after other logistical requirements. The committee has Director of Sports and Youth Affairs as the chairperson and officers from the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs and State Olympic Association members who is responsible for selection of players and their coaching, sourcing necessary equipments, hiring different persons for different tasks etc.

The sports authorities are already preparing for organizing National Games and have taken steps for promotion of the games, reports TOI.
