The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Complex in Shillong would soon be upgraded, informed Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
On Thursday, Governor Tathagata Roy approved a sum of Rs 125 crore to upgrade the stadium complex.
The decision was taken in a meeting held in the presence of state sports minister Banteidor Lyngdoh and officials of planning, finance and sports departments.
“Government of #Meghalaya has approved an amount of Rs 125 Cr for the upgradation of sports facility at J. N. Stadium complex, Shillong,” tweeted Conrad Sangma informing the decision.
“This was decided in the presence of the Hon’ble Minister of Sports, Shri Banteidor Lyngdoh & officials of Planning, Finance & Sports Depts,” Sangma added.
