Guwahati: The Meghalaya government denied allegations regarding irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted in the state.

Cabinet Minister and government spokesperson, Paul Lyngdoh, acknowledged the issue’s severity, stating, “The lapse should not have happened. I am confident the education department will address this immediately.”

He further highlighted the negative impact on students, mentioning the “psychological and undue mental pressure” caused by the irregularities.

Several people claimed of alleged mismanagement during the NEET exam held in Jowai, Jaintia Hills.

The Khasi Students’ Union and the Jaintia Students’ Union have voiced their demands for a re-conducted test by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma responded promptly, assuring that the government has raised these concerns with the NTA.
