The Meghalaya education department has informed that reopening of schools and colleges in the state may be possible from September 1.

he Meghalaya education department has decided to recommend reopening of schools and colleges in the state from September 1 to the High-Powered Committee (HPC) chaired by CM Conrad Sangma.

This was informed by Meghalaya education minister Lahkmen Rymbui in Shillong on Monday. 

“We have decided to recommend reopening of schools and colleges during our meeting today,” Mghalaya education minister Lahkmen Rymbui said.

The Meghalaya education minister added that modalities on reopening of schools and colleges I the state would be finalised after the HPC’s approval. 

Rymbui further said that the Meghalaya education department will recommend reopening all colleges and classes from 9 to 12 in both rural and urban areas.
