Meghalaya: Curfew extended in West Garo Hills till June 15

The West West Garo Hills district administration in Meghalaya has extended the ongoing curfew the district till June 15.

The curfew under Section 144 Cr PC together with Regulation 3 of the Meghalaya Epidemic Disease, COVID-19 Regulations 2020 has been extended in entire district from 6:00 am on Monday to 6:00 am of June 15.

The curfew, which comes into force with immediate effect, has the same prohibitions and exemptions issued earlier, but expected to maintain the academic schedule through online teaching, stated a notification.

As per the new order, places of worship will start to function with compliance as per SoP issued by the Government of Meghalaya.

All weekly and regular markets, commercial and financial establishments in West Garo Hills, including those along the Meghalaya-Assam Border will continue to remain closed.

Permission for operation of private transport within the district to the extent of 50% and plying on odd/even basis from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm will continue.

Operation of all forms of public transport being regulated by the District Transport Officer and allowed to the extent of 50% and all vehicles to operate at 50% alternate seating arrangement and autorickshaws on odd/even basis to continue.
