The Meghalaya government had imposed total curfew in Shillong after arson and vandalism rocked the Meghalaya’s capital city during Independence Day celebrations on Sunday.

Notably, late on Sunday night, miscreants hurled as many as two petrol bombs at the residence of Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma.

According to reports, two Molotov cocktail bottles were hurled at around 10.15 pm by vehicle-borne attackers at the premises of chief minister Sangma’s residence at Third Mile.

The first bottle was lobbed at the front side of the CM’s residence while the other one was thrown behind the backyard. However, no one was injured in the incident.
