The COVID-19 situation in Meghalaya seems to be deteriorating with every single passing day. 

Meghalaya, on Monday, reported as many as 24 more COVID-19 deaths. 

Of the 24 deaths recorded on Monday in Meghalaya, 17 are from East Khasi Hills district, 3 from East Jaintia Hills district, 2 from West Khasi Hills district and 1 each from West Garo Hills and East Jaintia Hills districts. 

These new deaths have pushed the State’s total COVID-19 death toll up to 483.

Moreover, the State has logged over 800 new cases in the last 24 hours. 

As many as 811 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Meghalaya in the last 24 hours. 

559 of the fresh 811 cases were detected from the East Khasi Hills district. 

The other districts in Meghalaya to have recorded new COVID-19 cases are: RiBhoi – 103, West Jaintia Hills – 77, East Jaintia Hills – 22, West Garo Hills – 21, North Garo Hills – 10, South West Garo Hills – 6, East Garo Hills – 5, South West Khasi Hills – 4 and West Khasi Hills – 4.

The detection of these 811 new COVID-19 cases has pushed Meghalaya’s active cases tally up to 7788. 

Meanwhile, 679 people have also recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours in the State.
