Meghalaya: Counting centres alloted for district council elections

The counting centres for various constituencies for counting of votes of the district council elections in Meghalaya have been announced on Thursday.

The District Council Affairs commissioner and secretary has announced the allocation of counting centres that will take place on Saturday.

The commissioner and secretary on Thursday informed that counting of votes in connection with the conduct of elections to the KHADC for constituencies in East Khasi Hills shall be held in the following location/centres which have been identified and approved for the purpose, according to reports.

Counting of votes for Sohryngkham, Mawkynrew, Nongkrem, Lyngkyrdem-Laitkroh and Nongshken will be held at Training Halls (adjacent to Dalang Stage). The counting centre for Mawsynram, Mylliem will be at Dalang Open Stage Polo 5th Ground, Shillong.

Indoor Stadium, JN Sports Complex, Shillong will be the counting centre for the constituency of Laban-Mawprem, Nongthymmai, Laitumkhrah-Malki, Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah, Jaiaw, Mawlai, Mawphlang-Diengiei and Nongspung-Sohiong.

The elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) were held on Wednesday.
