The district magistrate of East Khasi Hills has lifted the containment order on Tuesday night from the campus of the BSF’s Meghalaya Frontier at Umpling with effect from August 25.
The order was issued by the district magistrate on the basis of contact tracing status and testing of high risk contacts.
After receiving the negative COVID19 reports of the high risk contacts, the district magistrate of East Khasi Hills lifted the containment order on Tuesday night from the Meghalaya Frontier Headquarters of the BSF at Umpling.
However, according to the order of the district magistrate, East Khasi Hills district, all health protocols are to be strictly complied with by the hospital management within the Frontier Headquarter, BSF Campus, Umpling.
The director of health services (MI), Meghalaya, Dr Aman War on Tuesday indicated that the containment order would be lifted from the BSF Umpling campus.
The DHS said the state government decided to lift the containment order which was imposed in the Border Security Force (BSF), Meghalaya Frontier headquarters, Umpling after all COVID19 patients have tested negative except a returnee, who is now under quarantine.
“The last positive COVID19 case was detected in the BSF campus Umpling on August 11. We have submitted a report to the deputy commissioner of East Khasi Hills district advising to lift the containment order for BSF Umpling based on the report submitted by the medical officer in-charge of the area,” Dr War informed.
Dr War also said the BSF medical official assured to put in place stringent measures to prevent and contain the spread of COVID19 in the campus.
