While making this announcement in Shillong on Thursday, Congress spokesperson H M Shangpliang also said that the party’s election committee will decide the candidate for the Tura parliamentary constiuency.
Shangpliang further exuded confidence that Pala will retain the Shillong seat for the Congress as he has been pro-active during his tenure and has been effectively raising issues related to the State in the Parliament and also at various platforms in the national capital.
Notably, the Congress has never won the Tura parliamentary seat after Purno A Sangma left the party.
