In South West Garo Hills, three returnees coming from red zones have been detected as COVID19 positive, who are currently under quarantine.

“In the long run we have to learn to live with the virus and adapt ourselves to the situation and follow all the precautions because we really don’t know how long this battle against COVID will continue,” Conrad Sangma said in his interaction with the officials.

He also informed that Meghalaya’s model of testing is one of the best as the state is following a strict three-layer testing, which includes RT-PCR test for all the returnees.

“We are all together in this battle against COVID19, I would like to put my sincere appreciation to the frontline workers and the community as the society has come together to defeat COVID,” the chief minister added.

The Raksamgre MLA was present at Tikrikilla while the Salmanpara MLA was present at Ampati during the review meetings.

Earlier, the Meghalaya CM visited the flash flood affected roads in West Garo Hills.

The CM visited Tikrikilla to review the damages caused by the flash flood last week, particularly the AMPT Road, which is the lifeline for the people of the plain belt areas of West Garo Hills.
