Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma has set a target to complete the construction of an entry/exit point at Umling in Ri Bhoi district by November.
Chief minister Sangma discussed the progress of the construction work with Ri Bhoi deputy commissioner R M Kurbah.
“The work on-site is underway and we target to complete it by November 2020. Have directed officials to work on the integration of a registration system,” the chief minister tweeted.

Various pressure groups have demanded for speedy construction of the entry/exit point at Umling, while groups from Garo Hills have also raised the demand to speed up the setting up one entry/exit point at Bajengdoba in North Garo Hills district.
