Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma has urged the youths in Shillong to return the police gun that they took away from a car on Sunday. 

“All those who are involved are asked to immediately return the weapon,” Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma said.

According to reports, the youths snatched the gun from one policeman after seizing a police vehicle and setting it on fire. 

Meanwhile, the four policemen have been suspended and an inquiry has been initiated against them for “deserting their weapons”.

“For cops, the weapons they carry are as good as part of their bodies. They should never ever let go of it. What happen is unacceptable. So, we are firm on this and we will take actions,” Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma said. 

Meanwhile, the police are yet to make any arrest in connection with the incident.
