Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday reviewed the Meghalaya State Youth Policy with Sports and Youth Affairs minister Banteidor Lyngdoh and officials of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department on the draft.

The draft policy will be made available in the public platform to solicit opinions and suggestions in the first week of November, Sangma said.

The meeting discussed at length different components of the policy that encompasses the development of a holistic atmosphere for youth to engage in different activities in the fields of sports, co-curricular activities, entrepreneurship and skill-based learning.

The meeting also discussed different areas to develop critical thinking among the youth, leadership and engage them in innovative and welfare activities.

The policy also entails specific programmes for the overall well-being of the youth.

After receiving feedback, the draft policy will be given the final shape and then take to the cabinet.
