The newly built bailey bridge over the Dwar Ksuid river will help in diverting a huge part of the traffic in Shillong in Meghalaya.
Meghalaya deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong on Thursday inaugurated the bailey bridge situated in the Shillong bypass.
The original bridge was damaged last year because of which heavy vehicles had to move through the Meghalaya capital.

Shillong already witnesses huge traffic snarls, which prove to be a major headache for commuters and plying of heavy vehicles only added to this problem.
With these heavy vehicles being diverted through the bailey bridge, the traffic will ease to some extent.
“The Bailey Bridge over river Dwar Ksuid on the Shillong Bypass was inaugurated today by the Dy. CM in the presence of the MLAs of Sohiong & Umroi constituency along with senior officials of the State PWD,” Conrad Sangma tweeted.
