Guwahati: The All Garo Hills Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Federation, based in Ampati, South West Garo Hills, has urged the Director of Social Welfare in Shillong, Meghalaya to provide new mobile phones to facilitate continued Poshan Tracker updates.

The workers expressed their willingness to resume updates but cited non-functional government-issued phones as a major obstacle.

These phones have either stopped working, become outdated, or cannot handle the application’s demands.

The federation further stated that they have raised this issue through various channels over the past few months without any resolution. Furthermore, the workers’ meagre honorarium prevents them from purchasing phones on their own, they said.

In their memorandum, the federation set a two-month deadline for the authorities to address their demands, warning of a potential strike if unmet.
