In order to fight against COVID19, the Tura MP in Meghalaya, Agatha Sangma has assured of releasing Rs 1 crore from her MP Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).
Informing this, the Meghalaya Chief Minister’s office tweeted: “Hon’ble Meghalaya MP Smti Agatha Sangma has consented the release of 1cr from MPLADS due for release by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) during the financial year 2020-21 to the Central Govt. pool towards prevention and control of #COVID2019india.”

Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma has urged all to extend financial support to help the needy during the 21-day lockdown and generously contribute towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).
The chief minister tweeted: “Let’s all stand united to champion #COVID2019 and help one another especially during the #21daylockdown.”
“We are #StrongerTogether.”
The Meghalaya chief minister has requested the people donate online.

Meanwhile, in order to connect the farmers in the state to the consumers during the lockdown period, the Meghalaya government has also initiated measures.
“In our efforts to connect our farmers to consumers especially in this time of crisis, our iTEAMS and the NaRI team with the support of our DCs made essential commodities available to our citizens for purchase in different parts of the city and other locations in the State,” the CMO tweeted.
