SHILLONG: In a significant drug bust, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of East Jaintia Hills (EJH) district in Meghalaya in collaboration with Lumshnong police station intercepted a night service bus with registration number AS-01-FC-8299 at 1:30 AM on Tuesday (May 28).
During the search, authorities discovered 42 soap boxes containing heroin in the possession of a passenger identified as Abdul Kuddus Laskar from Cachar in Assam.

Preliminary tests confirmed the substance as heroin, with a total net weight of 458 grams.
The contraband and a mobile phone have been seized, and a criminal case under the NDPS Act will be filed against Abdul Kuddus Laskar, the inter-state trafficker.
