Thirty-eight more samples from Meghalaya tested negative for COVID19 at Gauhati Medical College Hospital on Friday.
These samples were collected from the Corona Care Centre at IIM Shillong and Bethany Hospital on Thursday.
Confirming this, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma tweeted: “38 samples taken yesterday from Carona (sic) Care Centre (32) and Bethany Hospital (6) tested at GMC are found negative.”

Earlier the chief minister informed that 617 samples were tested for COVID19 in Meghalaya and out of these samples 541 tests came out negative.
Meghalaya has registered one death case and the number of positive cases stands at 8.

Chief minister Sangma informed this through a video clip sent to the media.
Sangma said the health condition of the wife of the first COVID19 positive patient (who passed away) is stable and is under home quarantine.
He said the condition of the domestic help is also stable at the Shillong Civil Hospital.
The CM said: “All other positive patients are under home quarantine.”
In Meghalaya, 140 primary contacts have been traced and the number of people listed as secondary contacts is 4,755.
The total number of persons screened so far in the state is 24,382.
The number of persons under home quarantine is 2,557 and 105 people are under institutional quarantine.
