#Conrad Kongkal Sangma was born on 27 January 1978 in Tura.

# He is the youngest son of former Lok Sabha Speaker Purno Agitok Sangma and Soradini Kongkal Sangma.

# He is the National President of NPP, and is popularly known as Babang.

# At present, he is the Lok Sabha member, elected from Tura.

# Conrad did his schooling from St Columbas School, New Delhi and did MBA in University of Pennsylvania and Imperial College, University of London.

# He started his political career in 1998, as the campaign manager for his late father, P. A. Sangma for the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

# Conrad was first elected to the State Assembly in 2008 from Selsela in West Garo hills district.

# He was the Finance, Power, Tourism, GAD and IT minister under Donkupar Roy of UDP as the CM.

# His elder brother James K. Sangma is MLA from Dadengre.

# His youngest sister Agatha K. Sangma is former Union Minister for Rural Development. She has won as the MLA from South Tura.

# He also served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly from 2009 to 2013.

# Though Conrad lost the 2013 Assembly Elections from Selsella to Congress’s Clement Marak, he successfully contested the bye-election in 2016 from Tura Parliamentary Constituency following the sudden demise of his father.

# He is married to a doctor, and has a five-year old daughter.
