At a time when the entire world has been gripped by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Meghalaya, has taken a series of initiatives in supporting the nation in its fight against the pandemic.

MGU chancellor Rajan Chopra provided food to daily wagers, homeless people and others in Ri Bhoi district of Meghalaya.

Apart from it, Chopra on behalf of MGU has also extended every possible help to the people affected by the lockdown.

“The coronavirus pandemic has given provided an opportunity to MGU to express the responsibility it has towards the society,” an MGU statement issued to the media said.

It further added that MGU volunteers have reached out to people affected by the lockdown distributed food packets and other essential items.

For the aid of its students, the university has also arranged for regular online classes so that the students are not made to suffer during the lockdown period.
