He added: “With the recent amalgamation of two PDF MLAs, Banteidor Lyngdoh and Gavin Mylliem, along with the recent additions of Carnes Sohshang and Batskhem Ryntathiang, our strength has further strengthened.”

Dhar also disclosed that former MDC Rona Khymdeit is slated to join NPP on March 22, contributing to another substantial increase in the party’s vote share in Meghalaya.

Responding to allegations by Meghalaya Congress Shillong MP Vincent H Pala regarding NPP’s candidate selection, particularly the fielding of two women candidates, Dhar emphasized the party’s strategic choice of a cabinet minister as its candidate.

He affirmed that the selection of Meghalaya cabinet minister Ampareen Lyngdoh would ensure a formidable challenge to Pala.
