The Meghalaya government has decided to exempt the workshops from the nationwide lockdown for repairs of trucks on the highways of the state.
The East Khasi Hills District has allowed operation of workshops for repairs of trucks on National and State Highways.
A notification issued on Monday said that workshops for repairs of trucks on National and State Highways within East Khasi Hills District are exempted from the purview of the curfew order and prohibitory order under Section 144 CrPC and promulgated in Shillong agglomeration and villages of East Khasi Hills District respectively.
However, the District Magistrate said that strict observance and compliance of protocols and advisories of the government of Meghalaya in respect of social distancing, wearing of masks, no spitting in public places and proper hygiene practices are to be ensured.
