SHILLONG: The 7th edition of the India-France joint military exercise โ€œSHAKTI 2023-2024โ€ concluded on Sunday (May 26) at the Umroi Cantonment in Ri Bhoi district of Meghalaya.

The 14-day event aimed at enhancing interoperability and cooperation between the Indian and French armies, showcasing a range of tactical manoeuvres and strategic coordination.

The exercise was attended by high-ranking officials from both nations, including the Ambassador of France and senior military leaders.

Franceโ€™s commandant V Seiler and Indiaโ€™s Sandeep Jaiswal highlighted the importance of bilateral military cooperation in their addresses.

Conducted at the Foreign Training Node, the exercises demonstrated the commitment of both countries to counter-terrorism and peacekeeping operations.

The closing ceremony marked the successful culmination of weeks of rigorous training, fostering stronger ties and mutual understanding between India and France in defence affairs.
