Meghalaya on Sunday recorded the highest detection of both new COVID-19 positive cases as well as patients who have recovered from the infection.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said that while 82 new positive cases were detected, 79 patients have recovered on Sunday.
With new positive cases and persons who have recovered, the number of active cases stands at 693, and the number of persons who have recovered from the virus so far stands at 675.
The total COVID-19 cases in Meghalaya now went up to 1,374 which include 693 active cases, 675 persons who have recovered and six deceased.
Among the 82 new cases, West Garo Hills district reported 48 cases – 39 BSF personnel and 9 civilians.
East Khasi Hills district has 20 new cases – 15 civilians and 5 BSF while Ri Bhoi district reported
14 new cases all of them civilians.
Among the 79 patients who have recovered on on Sunday, 75 of them are from East Khasi Hills district which include 51 civilians and 21 BSF personnel, and three army personnel, besides three civilians from Ri Bhoi district and one from West Jaiñtia Hills district.
