Four legislators will share the dais with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during a rally of the BJP here on December 16.
Meghalaya BJP president, Shibun Lyngdoh said the four legislators include two Independents, Robinus Syngkon and Justine Dkhar, besides former BJP leader-turned Congress MLA, AL Hek and NCP MLA, Sanbor Shullai.
“These four MLAs will share the dais with the Prime Minister during the public rally,” Lyngdoh said.
However when contacted, the four MLAs have not confirmed their decision to join the BJP during the visit of the Prime Minister.
?The BJP, which has no MLA in the present Meghalaya Assembly, is hoping that some legislators from other parties would join the party and become its candidates in the coming Assembly elections to be held early next year.
?Hek, who is the Congress MLA, representing Pynthorumkhrah constituency, said that he would first hold a meeting with his supporters who are leaders from various areas in the constituency on December 14.
Likening the BJP to that of his parents’ house and the Congress his wife’s house, Hek said that the relationship has been good with both the houses.
“Brother-in-laws told me not to leave my wife’s house and I will see what I should do,” he said.
During his short visit, Modi besides addressing a BJP rally at Polo Ground here will meet the religious leaders.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the national highway Shillong-Nongstoiñ-Tura road and the newly constructed BJP office at Bivar road here.
