The trio was caught red-handed while collecting money from a local business manager, and subsequent questioning revealed they acted under instructions from Rangsngur Warjri.
Warjri was taken into custody from Umsning.
The police initiated a suo motu case after the targeted business owners and managers, non-tribals, declined to file an official complaint, citing concerns over potential backlash.
