Meghalaya has reported 112 more COVID19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s overall tally to 4,557 including 2,038 active cases.
According to reports, of the newly-infected patients, 33 are security personnel.
Meghalaya has recorded two more COVID19 fatalities, taking the death toll to 36.
The director of health services, Dr Aman War said East Khasi Hills district has reported the highest number of new positive cases at 87, followed by West Garo Hills district with 18 cases and Ri-Bhoi district with 4 cases.
Dr War informed that the two positive patients, aged 68 years and 50 years, died of COVID19 infection at the hospitals in Shillong and Tura respectively.
The health director informed that 46 more patients have recovered from the disease.
According to the latest data on the COVID19 status, shared by Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma, on his Twitter handle, the state currently has a total of 2,038 active cases.
Of the total active cases, 338 are Border Security Force (BSF) and Armed Forces’ personnel.
The other active cases stand at 1,700.
A total of 2,483 patients have recovered from the disease in Meghalaya so far.
