The COVID-19 tally of Meghalaya rose to 72 on Sunday afternoon after a returnee from Bihar and a BSF personnel tested positive for coronavirus.
In a tweet, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said, “One more returnee from Bihar to Umroi, Ri Bhoi District has tested positive for COVID19 and is under quarantine.”

The state now has 28 active cases and 43 patients have recovered so far.

It may be mentioned here that Meghalaya on Saturday registered a total of 8 positive cases.
Earlier on Saturday, three Border Security Force (BSF) personnel tested positive for COVID19 in Shillong.
Besides, 4 persons, who were high-risk contacts of a COVID19 patient, who is presently in Assam, tested positive in Ri Bhoi District.
On Friday, Meghalaya registered four COVID19 positive cases including two BSF personnel.
Apart from the two BSF personnel from East Khasi Hills district, one high-risk contact from Ri Bhoi district who tested positive in Shillong, one returnee from Delhi tested positive for COVID19 in Tura.
