Covid-19 cases in Manipur reach 4,765

With 78 new cases, the total number of COVID 19 positive cases in Manipur has increased to 4,765 on Tuesday, officials said.

Of the total positive cases, 1,221 are Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel.

The total number of active cases is 1, 958.

In a press release this evening, the COVID 19 Common Control Room in Imphal said, “In the past 24 hours, 73 persons (49 male, 24 female) from the general population and 5 from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID 19 positive cases.”

“Only 4 from Imphal West out of the general population are returnees from other states and the rest are locals without any significant travel history,” they said.

In the past 24 hours, 55 people were discharged from CAPF, Covid Care Centres of Lamboikhongnangkhong, Lanva Churachandpur and TK Ukhrul, it said.

The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases is 4,765, including 1,221 CAPF personnel, while the cumulative number of discharged cases is 2,789, it stated. The number of active cases is 1,958 including 946 CAPF personnel. The recovery rate is 58.53 %.

Meanwhile the cumulative number of deaths due to COVID 19 and other co-morbid health conditions in the state increasesd to 18 after the expiry of a female aged 75 yrs from Imphal West at JNIMS (Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences) today, as per the release.

It also informed the public about the 24X7 helpline numbers for the general public (for Psychological support 8787457035/9402751364/76299435961, for Hospitalisation 1800-103-2015, for Covid 19 Common Control Room 1800-345-3818).
