BSF seizes 17 cattle heads worth Rs 22.28 lakh in Meghalaya

As part of their anti-smuggling efforts, the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel seized a total of 17 cattle heads in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district along the India-Bangladesh border.

Informing about the seizure, the Border Security Force in a tweet said, the cattle heads were “brutally crammed” in a Tata truck.

The BSF Meghalaya in its tweet said the cattle heads were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

The operation was carried out on Monday.

The BSF has also been fighting against anti-drug trafficking along the India-Bangladesh border.

On November 2, 2021, the BSF troops stationed in Meghalaya seized Yaba tablets worth Rs. 1,03,190 from the international border with Bangladesh in the South West Khasi district.

“Yaba Tablet worth Rs. 1,03,190/- seized by @BSF_Meghalaya from the #International #Border of South West Khasi Hills District on 02nd Nov’ 2021,” the BSF Meghalaya tweeted earlier.

On November 1, 2021, the BSF troops under Guwahati Frontier seized 525 bottles of prohibited cough syrup and 13 kg of ganja, which were supposed to be smuggled to Bangladesh.

“On 01 Nov’ 2021, Vigilant Seema Praharies of 75 Bn under @BSF_Guwahati Frontier foiled the attempt of drug trafficking and seized 525 btl prohibited cough syrup & 13 KG Ganja while being smuggled to Bangladesh,”theBSFearliertweeted.
