BJP set to conquer M’laya; eight JHADC members joining saffron brigade

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to bloom the lotus in Meghalaya,

With its eyes set on Meghalaya, the BJP will launch a massive recruitment drive in the State on Saturday.

Eight Jaintia Hills Autonomous Council (JHADC) members are slated to join the saffron brigade on Saturday.

These include four members belonging to United Democratic Party (UDP) and the rest of the four members from the grand old party, the Indian National Congress (INC).

The JHADC members who are slated to join the BJP are :

Lakhon Biam (UDP)

Krishon Langstang (UDP)

Treilang Suchiang (UDP)

Dawan Lyngdoh (UDP)

Andrew Shullai (INC)

Arbor Hima (INC)

Holando Lamin (INC)

Aiborlang Shadap (INC)

The induction of these JHADC will take place at BJP’s state unit office at Oakland Road in Shillong.

The induction will take place in the presence of convenor of North Eastern Democratic Alliance (NEDA) and finance minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The programme is slated to take place at 1 pm on Saturday.

This will be followed by a felicitation programme of the newly inducted members.

The recruitment drive is also expected to be graced by party in-charge of Meghalaya and national spokesperson of BJP Nalin Kohli.

Till date the BJP has not made its mark in the electoral politics of the State.

The party has just two MLAs who have extended support ot the National People’s Party (NPP) led government in the State Government.
