BJP MLA and former Meghalaya health minister AL Hek has been appointed as Adviser to chief minister Conrad Sangma.

“The Governor of Meghalaya is pleased to appoint Shri Alexander Laloo Hek, MLA as Adviser to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya,” read a notification from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Appointment of AL Hek as Adviser to Meghalaya Chief Minister follows BJP’s allegation that chief minister Conrad Sangma had dropped Hek from the state cabinet ‘unilaterally’.

The Meghalaya BJP accused CM Conrad Sangma of not consulting with it on the decision of sacking AL Hek from the cabinet.

On the other hand, AL Hek had also expressed disappointment over him being ousted from the cabinet.

Hek had alleged that he was not informed by anyone about the decision of him being dropped from the cabinet.

“Before sacking me from the cabinet, the chief minister should have spoken to me,” Hek had said.
