The Regional Resource Centre, NEIGRIHMS in collaboration with ERNET India, New Delhi under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is organising a two-day training on “e-Classroom Management”.
The training is meant for the Nodal Officers and Technical Staff of the Medical Colleges of the North East.
These staff have been deputed by their respective Medical Colleges to NEIGRIHMS and are receiving “hands-on-training” in the running and maintenance of the “state-of-the-art” video conferencing equipment that have been installed in the six medical institutions in the North East – Regional Resource Centre, NEIGRIHMS, Meghalaya, Guwahati Medical College, Guwahati, ,Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, RIIMS, Imphal, Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research, Dimapur, Agartala Medical College, Tripura
NEIGRIHMS is the nodal headquarter for the telemedicine services for the whole of the North East comprising of the eight states of Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Mizoram and Tripura.
In addition to these six medical institutions from the North East, the staff from 44 more medical colleges are being trained over video conferencing at the same time in this workshop. These programmes are targeted towards ensuring that the sophisticated equipment are maintained properly and utilised optimally in the delivery of teaching, training, delivery of healthcare throughout the country so that quality and affordable health care can reach to the last man in the queue.
This training aims to ensure seamless interlinking of all teaching and training programs in the North East along with those from the other Premier Medical Institutions all over India. It is envisaged that such facilities will help our medical institutions situated in the far flung areas of India to overcome constraints of shortage of Teachers/ specialist medical personnel in the fields of medicine, nursing and other paramedical courses.
It is also expected to expand the delivery of specialist as well as standard healthcare to the districts where there is a need.
