The Meghalaya Government has assured to give the right attention to the requirements of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in the State including training infrastructure and allotment of space for setting up of permanent campus.
“The kind of attention that the NCC should receive in the past years has not been given, and the State Government has not been able to give the kind of support to them. The NCC is doing a wonderful work for the youth and the training they are giving to the children it is a very important aspect of character building for our youth. Sadly the state has not been able to take due advantage of this. As a government, we feel the NCC can really contribute a lot,” Conrad Sangma said after addressing the young NCC cadets at the Assam Rifles Directorate, Laitkor about 20 km from Shillong.
