With a view to create awareness on Prime Minister Gramin Digital Literacy among different stake holders including the Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLE), facilitators of Common Service Centres (CSC), Panchayat Secretaries other rural development officials and officials of government agencies among others, a public function was organized at district library auditorium, Mangaldai in Darrang district of Assam on Wednesday.
Participating in the function Deputy Commissioner of Darrang, Ashok Kr Barman, Chief Executive Officer, Darrang Zila Parisad, Adhar Bhuya, ADC, Darrang in charge of information technology Pankaj Chakraborty and State Head of CSC service in Assam Gyan Dooley and Aayon Choudhury discussed various issues related to digital literacy including e-Governance, government services being provided through online digital services through CSCs, unlimited earning opportunities through CSC facilitators of the district among others and urged upon every rural family to register free of cost at least one member for digitally literacy.
The meeting also laid stress on activating all the three hundred registered CSCs in the district and to reward the best performing CSCs with different special monetary benefits and taking action against the non performing CSCs as well. The meeting also displayed small documentaries on digital literacy campaign.
