Nipping in bud all differences and to do away with the persistent confusions among the people of the Singpho community centering around fielding of undesirable multiple candidature from a same community to represent the 49 Bordumsa -Diyun constituency in the upcoming Assembly Election, a mass gathering has been called here on Sunday at the Singpho Heritage Centre in Bordumsa in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh.

Talking to Northeast Now in Bordumsa early Sunday morning, Changlang Zila Parishad Chairperson, Legai Jokhong Singpho said that there had been fast brewing resentment among the people of the Singpho community towards their own leaders who were held responsible for their own defeat in 2014 Assembly election due to multiple candidature from the same community.

As such, to build a consensus and erase all confusions eroding the solidarity of the people of the tribe to ensure a single candidate in the next election, a mass meeting has been called for after which the entire community would gear up together to push ahead with clear cut agenda of supporting the single chosen candidate.

Meanwhile, various Sngpho organizations including the Singpho Youth Organization and the Singpho Development Society had also been holding marathon meeting earlier to this effect to ensure that no differences exist further among the people and intending candidates from other parts of the State could be voted out of the constituency.

“Three Singpho contesting candidates in 2014 Assembly elections were dusted by present incumbent MLA Nikh Kamin by a mere difference with around 1250 votes. The humiliating defeat was only due to stubborn and uncompromising attitude of our so called ambitious leaders who are yet to be forgiven,” rued one of the youth leaders of Bordumsa.

“We need to project and portray a new efficient face this time from our community which the common people would decide today,” the youth leader said, adding “we have had enough with the same leaders so far”.

However, Mayong Maio, an active Singpho leader of Bordumsa, a local businessman who has also been the state secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is equally confident of getting party tickets with good networks of electorates and upper party hierarchy while former Congress Cabinet Minister CC Singpho, a newly inducted BJP state convener is also hopeful to represent the saffron party in 2019 election from the Bordumsa-Diyun seat after his defeat in 2014 .

Another in the row, Samlung Mossang, the brother of Arunachal Cabinet Minister Kamlung Mossang of Miao known for his humility, social and charitable works  is also reported to have started his election calculations to win the favour of the electorates in 2019 Assembly election.

Mossang, a very sound and calculative grassroot player is pitching aggressively on a different format to wrestle with Nikh Kamin, the only candidate he counts to be at par unmindful of others.
