Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur district of Manipur, Pawan Yadav, IAS received the ‘Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration’ from Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a function held on the occasion of National Civil Services Day at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Saturday.
The district bagged the award in the group ‘North East and Hill States’ for excellence in implementing ‘Promoting Digital Payments’.
There were 999 applications received from organizations of central, state government, districts out of which 138 applications were from aspiring districts for different categories under the ‘Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration’.
The award was presented on Civil Services Day, 2018 function organised by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
Meanwhile, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has congratulated the Bishnupur district administration for bagging the award.
In a tweet in his official Twitter handle, the Chief Minister wrote:
