‘Pheichon’ (Footprint), a feature film on Tangkhul dialect, will premiere for the first time in Imphal at the auditorium of Tribal Research Institute in Imphal on July 7 at 3 pm.

Earlier, this 90-minute film, based on the prevailing living standard of the Tangkhul youths residing far from home, was once screened in New Delhi in February 2018.

Informing about this, SC Varechan, director of The Voice of Tehillah (TVT) managing team, said many of today’s educated youths have left their home towns for different purposes and are now earning their livelihood on their own. In such situation, there are chances of taking wrongful steps.

“Considering such alarming situation into account, we in the TVT managing team, which is a Christian home organization thought of sharing the idea to follow the positive footprint of our elders to the younger generation through a film,” said Varechan, adding, “Thus, the film ‘Pheichon’ comes out as a result with Shaingam Ngakang’s story.”

In fact, TVT managing team aims to encourage the young artistes and help them at certain levels to stand on their own feet by exploring their creativities, he felt.

Bryan Ramror, Angel Shimrah, Shaingam Ngakang and Gracy Kuireiwoshi are the main actors of the film which was shot mostly in Delhi and Rajasthan for more than a month.

Sorin Raikhang, deputy director of the film, also expressed her desire that the younger generation should follow the right footprint for a better future as TVT managing team encourages the youngsters to become living examples.

In March, 2018, a Tangkhul feature film, titled ‘Lan Ashee Yur’, was also premiered at town hall of Ukhrul district headquarters, 84 km north of Imphal.
