In a significant political development, six BJP leaders along with 200 workers joined the Congress on Tuesday in Manipur’s Noney district.
The BJP workers, who joined the Congress, are from Rengpang ADC segment of Nungba Assembly Constituency in Noney district.

They joined the saffron party at an event at Congress Bhavan in Imphal in the presence of Manipur Congress president Govindas Konthoujam, CWC member Gaikhangam, MPCC VP Bidyapati.
The development comes as huge setback for the N Biren Singh-led BJP government Manipur.
The six BJP leaders who joined the Congress party are Kilongdi Gonmei, Ningchuipou Kamei, Solomon Kamei, Neilalung Gonmei, Poudonlung Kamei and Jathuanglung.
