GUWAHATI: In a significant development, Naga and Kuki-Zo MLAs from Manipur convened in Guwahati for a collective session.

The meeting between the Naga and Kuki-Zo MLAs from Manipur was held on Saturday (February 24) in Guwahati city of Assam.

Several pressing issues such as the ongoing unrest in Manipur and concerns regarding the Hills Area Committee were discussed in the meeting.

The gathering, comprising five Naga MLAs and nine Kuki-Zo MLAs, focused on strategies to restore peace in the strife-torn Northeast state of Manipur.

They also discussed issues like the lack of ration supplies for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Manipur, among others.

The meeting also reportedly discussed the central government’s decision to fence the India-Myanmar border and scrapping of the free movement regime (FMR).
