Guwahati: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), was on signed Thursday (February 15), between Manipur University of Culture (MUC), Imphal and Phranakhon Rajabhat University (PRU), Thailand, with the key objective to heighten relations between the two varsities.

The historic deal was inked at the Samantanet Conference Hall of PRU in Bangkok. Among other points, the two varsities, in the MoU, agreed to co-create duel degrees or joint degrees or another programme, exchange academic staff and students, knowledge and education technology and cultural programmes.

Signed by Preang Kitratporn, Associate Professor and acting President of PRU and Prof Paonam Gunindro Singh, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of MUC on behalf of the two universities, the MoU said that its term shall be effective for five years.

The aim of the MOU is to enhance relations between both parties and to expand collaboration in the exchange of education, research, culture and other activities, and both parties approve to establish collaboration and work together for mutual benefit.

The terms and conditions of such mutual collaboration, according to the deal, shall be approved and agreed upon in writing by an authorised representative of both parties before the commencement of projects or activities.

Any expense deriving from the implementation of each exchange under the agreement shall be separately negotiated and determined on a case by case by both parties, added the MoU.

It said the area of cooperation will include any projects which each party organises in accordance with demand, ensuring the successful collaboration between both the parties.
