A massive spike in the number of COVID-19 positive cases has been reported from Manipur. 

As many as 600 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Manipur on Friday.  

Among the new 600 cases, 307 are male, 269 are female and 24 cases belonged to the Central Armed Paramilitary Forces deployed in the State.  

With the detection of these 600 new COVID-19 cases, Manipur’s active cases tally has jumped to 3506.  

Of the total 3506 active COVID-19 cases in Manipur, 3330 are from the general public and 176 are from the Central Armed Paramilitary Forces deployed in the State.

Meanwhile, the total COVID–19 cases in Manipur have also risen to 34333.  

On the other hand, Manipur on Friday logged 2 new COVID-19 deaths.  

While one of the deceased was a 47-year-old man hailing from Kakching, the other was a 65-year-old male from Imphal East.  

The cumulative COVID-19 death toll in Manipur has risen to 449.

Meanwhile, as many as 83 persons have also recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.  

“They are from: Home Isolation (53), JNIMS (1), RD Wing (13) CCCBB (2), Churachandpur DH (1) and SHRI (13),” stated the latest health bulletin from the Manipur Health Department.  

Manipur’s COVID-19 recovery rate has dropped to 88.48%.
